Although it was her first appointment to the President’s
Office, it was not her first opportunity to work with
Dr. Bill Meehan. When she came to JSU in 1986, it was to
serve as Dr. Meehan’s secretary when he was assistant
vice president for academic affairs. That working
relationship lasted 13 years, until Dr. Meehan became
president.
Before joining JSU, Mrs. Stinson worked as a legal
secretary for attorneys in Anniston from 1980 - 1986.
She was employed by Merrill, Porch, Doster & Dillon, for
J. Todd Caldwell, and for Bolt, Isom, Jackson, & Bailey.
She
graduated third in her class at Winterboro High School in
Alpine in May 1979. Mrs. Stinson completed a two-year
business and office education program at J. R. Pittard Area
Vocational School and completed the executive secretarial
program at New World College of Business in Anniston in
1981.
Mrs.
Stinson's family has attended Cornerstone Worship Center (CWC)
for the past 17 years. Her husband of 24 years, Sam, is a
member of the CWC praise team and owner/operator of Stinson
Howard Fine Jewelry. The Stinsons have two daughters,
Leslie and Kristen, both of whom are JSU students and work
on campus.
